Everyone knows immediately which model we are talking about. No well-stocked shoe closet should be without the original colorway, known by connoisseurs as *Infrared* for short. Looking at its predecessors, it's easy to see what significant parts the Air Max III borrowed from where to shine as a new overall piece. The Air Max III, as the shoe has recently been rebranded after being known as the Air Max 90 for a long time, is the third member of the Air Max line after the Air Max 87 and the Air Max Light. Red and white were the Air Max and thus just the right extravagance for the music scene, in which they should quickly reach cult status. It wasn't just the Air Pad that made the Air Max stand out - the color was also something special for the time. He had the idea to equip the Air Max with a window so that you could admire the cushioning from the outside, which merged with the design of the shoe and even became an important recognition feature. The cushioning, the so-called Air Pad, became visible through a creative idea of the designer Tinker Hatfiled, who was later also involved in the design of the Air Jordan III.

He wanted to develop a sports shoe with special damping through air chambers in the shoe. Its history begins in the 70s with the space engineer Frank Rudy. A casual look and a high-quality material mix, that's how you could describe it in a nutshell. To this day, it is Nike's best-selling shoe and has been on the market for years in new editions: the Air Max. One particular sneaker deserves special thanks. After all, sneakers have played a major role in Nike's success and enjoy a very good reputation in both streetwear and sports. This is not surprising, considering that Nike has stood for quality and innovative design since its founding in the 70s - especially with sneakers. Nike is the world's leading manufacturer of sporting goods.
